This one is a very late post. How late?

https://78.media.tumblr.com/36f349ba50f38021ac611ee888204291/tumblr_ovx13eQj9T1wzemqmo1_500.gif

Ok fine, it's been a year since this should have been published. A lot has happened since then, so I'm not sure if my memories of Hong Kong is still accurate, and if I'll do it some justice. To be honest, I can't fully recall what we did per day there, because all I can fully remember now is our Disney land trip only hahaha! Anyway, let me try to rack my brain, and go full-on storytelling mode about my HK trip- last September 2016.

https://78.media.tumblr.com/cee63c660f5a6d1ca06074c9325b4728/tumblr_owhm4q3Q5M1vn2yu8o1_500.gif
Grab a seat.

Soooooo, I remember our flight from Philippines to Hong Kong was last September 16, 2016. We boarded a flight with Cebu Pacific, and it was a night flight, something I'm not used to. Most of the time, the flights that I have taken are in the morning, and I remember how calming it is to see oodles and oodles of clouds. To strip myself off of anxiety, I indulged myself in watching Me before you instead (making my mom look at me strangely when she heard me sniffing haha!)
Duck Face hahaha!
Ummm mama, wala po kayo sa Divi :)

DAY 1

Ok, now I remember! For our first day in Hong Kong, we went to Lantau Island, and took the cable car going to Ngong Ping Village. I remember how we got lost going to Tung Chung, and how one of my mom's friend was desperate to find a bathroom inside the train station in Mongkok hahaha! Oh by the way, I forgot to mention that for this time around, me and my mom were travelling with 3 of her friends and their kids, so imagine how crazy it is to herd this pack. Unlike my first time before, I was with my cousin, and her friend, so it's easier to navigate the city.

I think this is near Tsim Sha Tsui.

Saying hi to the other side of HK.
#Twinning hahaha!

Oh I also haven't mentioned, for the first 2 days of our trip to HK, we stayed in Chung King Mansions, then I booked our 3rd day in Airbnb to bring balance to this world. You see, I was not originally part of this trip, since I was supposed to join my friends' trip instead, but because of my mom's clingy-ness, I obliged and joined them. By the time I decided to join them, they have already booked the hotel rooms in Chung King Mansions, and sadly they won't refund if we cancel. Anyway, there's another time to discuss about Chung King Mansions, and the horrors I've seen inside it. Ok, back to Day 1, soooo coming from Chung King Mansions going to Tsim Sha Tsui was a fair walk, hence the decision to check out some sights before heading to Tung Chung, then Lantau.

The moment we got off the train at Tung Chung station, we were greeted by City Gate Outlets. Since I was in the company of the Titas of Manila, we ended up checking some stores first before heading to the cable cars going to Lantau island.
Wife Material

Kala mo yan na, di pa!

The queue to the cable car was quite long, however it wasn't as tiring as waiting in line for the train here in Manila, because the turn-around time of the cable cars is little, hence there's a cable car in every 3 minutes. From what I remember we paid around HKD 140-160 round trip for the standard cabin (around $ 30+), and we bought the tickets there on the same day. Perhaps it's more affordable if you buy it in Klook, or other travel deals sites.

I did not expect the ride itself to be long. At a glance, I thought we'll be in the mountain top proper after 5 minutes basing on the cable stops you can see from the Cable Car dock below, but oh boy I was wrong! It took us around 15-20 minutes to arrive in Ngong Ping Village, on top of Lantau. Apparently, after passing the visible cable stops (especially the high one), you'll then see that there's still a looooong way to go before arriving. If you're afraid of heights, you may not like this (especially the crystal cable car, with glass floors hahaha) since there's a certain moment where it became windy and the cable car we were in started rocking hahaha! The Titas were #Shookt. Also, please refrain from watching Kingsman The Golden Circle prior to boarding the cabin hahaha! However, if you wish to see Ngong Ping minus the windy cable car ride, I think you can do so by taking the bus. Upon checking, you can go to Lantau by taking the route 23 bus in Tung Chung, but go there earlier during weekends because the lines are looooonger.

In my mind I was singing Mulan's Reflection hahaha! #Werpa

Cutiepies, but quite pricey :(

#JejGirlNgQC

Upon arrival, you'll be greeted with a souvenir shop, then after a few walks you'll see the village proper. The Ngong Ping Village, old school as it appear, is actually full of restaurants and shops where you can spend you HKDs like no one gives a shhh. However, just a tip, the souvenirs there are pricier than the ones in Mongkok, so better stock up when you're in mainland instead. Also, on the other end of the village you'll see the arc going to the big Buddha, where there are food stalls that sell more affordable drinks (you're welcome haha).

The end of the Ngong Ping Village

The Arc going to the Big Buddha

#Lodi

The Big Buddha

Best Purchase Ever
As the legend goes (or chitchats from friends), those who climb the stairs going to the Big Buddha will have their wishes, or what they are praying for come true. But since I cannot leave the #TitasOfManila behind, I was not able to go to the Big Buddha. Anyway, my wish that day came true eventually, so no biggie.

By the way, the best time to go to Lantau is in the morning, because the operation time of the cable cars are until 6:30 PM only. You can check here for more details

Will go storytelling mode for Day 2 in a separate post. For now, feast on this instead :)

This was my wish *droooools*
Love Always,
Nicoco

P.S.

Of all places, we met up in HK! hahaha! Hi Bewbs <3 td="">

It's been ages since friends, colleagues, and random strangers from the internet egged me to digitize my artworks. One of the most fervent supporter of this is my boyfriend, Imman Riddle. Ever since he found out that I've been drawing and painting 3 years ago, never did he forget to mention that Digital is the way to go, and I have to keep up. The main reason why I was hesitant to pursue the digital arts is because I was discouraged by my lack of resources, totally unimaginable of what I can do with what I already have. Good thing, Imman upgraded his phone, which leaves me adopting his Samsung Note 5 (which is in mint condition).

Given that, I have no reason whatsoever not to take my artworks to the next level, and do digital. With that, I present to you my artworks :)

I'm currently doing 2 more, but with the things I have yet to do (i.e. Uni applications, Class Act, work, and Pru Life UK... will let you know about these soon ;) ), it looks like I'll be done by Christmas time hahaha! But kidding aside, I'm really impressed with the Samsung Note 5, despite it being 2 years old already! I once worked for Samsung's Advertising company, Cheil Philippines, and even handled the Note 4 campaign before, and I must say that particular model sucked, however Note 5 is quite the contrary.

What I have realized recently about creating artworks is that, it doesn't matter what tools you have, whether you are using something something dirt poor quality, or the high-end top-of-the-line ones, what matters is what you can offer on the table. The moral of this? Be resourceful! Do what you can, with what you have right now :)

Keep drawing!

Love Always,

Nicoco

...do not turn green.

Envious people will go nowhere. The ones who feel so much insecurities in their skin won't find true happiness, since all they can see are the happiness of others that they wish they could have.

In case you find yourself face to face with one, give them a salute, like this one:

By camera, what I mean is the stand-alone one, and not the 8 mega pixels of my old iPod touch.

While this may seem such a 1st world problem, I have actually ponder on this subject for quite some time already. Should I invest in a good camera, not only for travelling, but also for y'know taking photos of stray cats trying to strangle each other for a piece of fish outside of our house? And if I did conclude to agreeing, what camera should I buy?

Due to the amount of self-help books I have read recently, I think it's best to put it into practice, and help myself decide (HAHA, loner Wala friends) through old fashioned PROS and CONs.

Let's get started then :)

PROS
1. You won't get a sucky photo like this, ever again:
Wow...lights.
Sure, it's night time, but that doesn't mean your phone or whatever mobile device should go berserk when it comes to ISO controls-oh wait, it is out of control. Not that you are ridiculing whatever you have right now (holla Samsung Galaxy S5, and iPod Touch generation... umm year 2012), but clearly those devices suck when it comes to controlling, and getting the most of light-or in this case, low light. However, if you do have a camera with high ISO sensitivity, from let's say 100 to 16000 ISO, people would have figured that this photo is not supposed to be a trying-hard boke fest, but a pretty al fresco dinner spot. What more if you're given a chance to see the Aurora Borealis and you only have your sad as potatoes, kulelat-sa-ISO mobile phone camera? Clearly, whatever you have right now won't give justice to the Northern lights.

2. You can finally stop blaming your shaky hands (Pasmado, yo!)
Pocahontas won't see the colors of the wind with this photo's quality
Nobody likes a blurry photo! The only time blurry is acceptable is when you want to erase away the imperfections in your face, and accidentally blur away your nose as well. Usually, most phones and mobile devices don't have stabilizers, hence when you take photos you have to be as still as Kristen Stewart's face. But that's the thing, most of the time we cannot uphold the Kristen Stewart way of life, because life will constantly 'SHOOKT' us. With that, the best way to capture the best lively and spontaneous moments is by having a camera that has Anti-Motion Blur.

3. Square won't cut it.
You haven't seen all of it yet
There are those beautiful sceneries that you wish you would have captured in all of their entirety, unfortunately your phone can only deliver a square cut of it. Sure, mobile devices nowadays have panorama features in them, but like my number 2 Pro example, you have to be completely still! For instance, I once tried doing a panoramic shot of The Peak in Hong Kong. I was so focused in capturing all of its coolness, until a rowdy kid bumped into me, causing my panoramic shot wonky with a severed head effect in it. Not cool. But if you do have a camera that will let you have the perfect panoramic shot with just an effortless sweep? You won't lose your head anymore (he he he no.).

4. Manual Settings!
Wer na U? Wer na U?
There were times whenever I would think, "Ohhhh, this would make a good photo!", then I'd whip my phone out, and try to capture the photo to mimic how I see it. After taking the photo, I'd check the gallery, and end up asking 'Anyare?'. This, my friends, is what happened when you don't have adequate controls with your camera. Basically, with phones and other mobile devices, the controls are very basic, so you'll end up with basic photos. Unlike if you have a stand-alone camera that will enable you to play with settings, you can discover techniques, and not be confused when your Photography professor started talking about Circles of confusion.

3. BETTER VIDEOS!
HAHAHANGGULO-GULO NA
Imagine my shock when I watched this after shooting this. I remember being so excited to show this to my Star Wars Fanatics friends, but when I saw this, I felt like forgetting about it instead. Now, if I do have a better camera with Full HD 1080/60i/24p or 1080/30p MP4 Movies, I'd be the next Michelle Phan! I'd be able to shoot crisp as fork videos of me saying nonsense things in youtube, or create a blow by blow commentary of the fighting cats in my hood! Just thinking of it, makes me want to leave my seat, and go to the nearest mall... but wait, there's more!

4. No more ringing while you blinging.
Have you ever had that moment where you were about to take the sickest, blingin' selfie in the whole world with your 5 MP front camera phone, then somebody decided to call you in...with your phone?! Hahahahaha, 1st world problem much, but seriously, it's so annoying! I can't focus on my angles hahaha! But if you do have a camera that won't bug you with calls, texts, and senseless FB notifications, just imagine how cool your selfies would be like taken with a 20.1 MP camera? So amazing, that you can blow it up to the size of a tarp! Furthermore, your photos will be friggin' high res, you can humble-brag how tiny your pores are!

Now that we have discussed the PROs, what exactly are the CONs?

Hmm... Well, great cameras, like Sony Î±5000 E-mount Camera with APS-C Sensor, won't definitely be the most affordable item you can blow your cash on. At Php 22,999.00, imagine how many kilograms of gummi bears would you buy with it, or buckets and buckets of Jollibee Chickenjoy! However if you think of it in a different perspective, definitely it is a good investment. I have owned various Sony gadgets and Electric items (The Playstation is God's gift to mankind-aside from fire, y'know), and I can attest that they do last a long time ,most of the time longer than relationships

.Really, what's stopping you now from getting one?

While I may not be a stranger to gyms, and things that make you 'stronger', I'm still ALWAYS overwhelmed whenever I try new fitness stuff. A couple of weeks ago, I tried Muay Thai in Elorde Kapitolyo branch. They used to have this promo where you can have 3 sessions for Php 750, but you still have to pay for renting the hand wraps and boxing gloves separately. Elorde is well-equiped, but it definitely needs a bit of an upgrade when it come to their lockers (or the lack of it) and restrooms. The staff and trainors are friendly, and did I mention unlimited rubbing alcohol??? It was fun, especially if you have so much pent up angst towards your everyday life, however the bruises aren't fun having. Also when doing Muay Thai you are supposed to be barefoot, which is a deal-breaker for me. I ended up playing Tekken in Playstation instead.

(From http://srsfunny.tumblr.com/) Basically how I looked like when I get off those smelly boxing gloves.
Aside from Muay Thai, I did Yoga last week. It was a free class by Urban Ashram, where I suppose they do it at least twice a month. Unfortunately for us, that was the last free class for this season [Though I'll be keeping my eyes peeled on when it will be back *wink*]. Unlike Muay Thai's fast paced bruise-inducing punches and kicks Yang, Yoga is like it's Ying. It's very relaxing, the stretching and poses won't intimidate even the least athletic person in the room, and what's best is that you wouldn't notice that you actually sweat while meditating. I might try their first-to-yoga package soon after I pay all of my bills, everyone should try it actually!

(from http://rick-and-morty-gifs.tumblr.com/)

Given that I have tried 2 ways to melt away the fats in the last 2 months, after a bit of research, I have decided to give in to one of Metrodeal's fitness deal. I bought a one-month membership with a personal trainer session for Php 1,425.00 , seems like a good deal right?

What made me decide ASAP on getting this deal is the fact that Gold's Gym offers variety of classes, almost as good as the ones Fitness First offers. They have Zumba [that strengthens my inner tita], Piloxing (which is a mix of Pilates and Boxing), Hiphop dance, and a whole lot more. Also, getting this deal is like getting a 'free taste' on something you are not sure if you want to commit to, like buying a new flavored drink in Starbucks. Another thing is, there's a Gold's Gym branch nearby our office here in Kapitolyo. In this way, I definitely have no excuse not to go and make puddles of sweat.

(from https://jacobthriller.tumblr.com/) You shake that booty, tita!
Given that today is July 1, 2016, this marks the day that my suffering challenge will begin. We'll see later if I'll get through my 1st gym day, and reign supreme.

XOX,
Nicoco

Since my last post last July 2014 [for a MTV contest post, which I did not win *cue sad music*], I gained a lot of... things. To be exact, I gained a lot of weight

(from http://heartsnmagic.tumblr.com/)
According to Science, this is a natural phenomena that happens when you hit your mid twenties. To cut it short, my metabolism slowed down. Despite Science slowing down my fat burning mechanism, my cravings for all the calorie bombs remain constant. When I see food, I gotta have it, and savour it. Sure, eating is a human necessity, however it became a hobby for me. 70% of my salary goes to food (just kidding, most of it goes to bills). No wonder, most of my photos in my phone are food. RIP wallet.

This is surprisingly good, I tell you.
This is heaven *drops mic*
In addition to that, I had no idea that being in a relationship would made me end up 30 pounds heavier. I never thought that all those spontaneous trips to get buffalo wings would end up giving me those bulgy bits on the side of my tummy. I never thought that all those cakes and ice creams, oh and gummi worms, would make my face rounder. Now, I must pay the price, and punish myself.

(from http://srsfunny.tumblr.com/) Yes, buying myself a massive floater ASAP.
Kidding aside, I have now planned to do something about my weight problem, and that is to exercise and eat healthy. Particularly, this is what I really am up to:

1. Go to Gym, EVERYDAY. No excuse, whatsoever (unless manila has turned into Atlantis already).
2. Write all the things I eat. EVERY.SINGLE.THING.THAT.GOES.INTO.MY.MOUTH. Whether it's a piece of gummi or 3 M&Ms.
3. No more Pork. This is partly because of Winston (I'll tell you about him soon, he's cool).
4. Do yoga.
5. No more Soda, Fruit Shakes, Frappucinos- basically anything liquid calorie bombs.
6. Go back to having a weight of 120 lbs before my cousin's wedding on December, and rock my hubadera bridesmaid dress.
7. Blog about this misadventure, and document how I will fail succeed this.

So, tomorrow July 1, 2016, I'm set to start my challenge, my 30 day gym challenge, to be from this:

My current 140+ lbs self, with bulgy bits, and a huge problem of being unable to fit into my clothes.
to this:
My 21 year old self, weighing 120lbs, with noticeable collarbone.
I need people's wishes that I won't crawl back to darkness, where all the cheetos and buffalo wings are. Wish me luck, world!

XOX,
Nicoco
