One random night I got bored that I decided to filter out and finally cleaned my email. Lo and behold, I saw an email about this website that give a lot of people the chance to try out a product, then they can do a review about it. Rather than mind other people's business, I decided to try out and see my luck if I'll get chosen as one of the reviewers for this!

👌👌👌👌👌

...and yes, with that let us now proceed with the review of the Maybelline Made For All lipstick 💄💄💄

THE MAYBELLINE MADE FOR ALL LIPSTICK

Photo from Huda Beauty website HERE

The Maybelline Made for All Lipstick is available in 7 different shades that are meant to flatter ANY skintone. Upon filling up the questionnaire from the Try and Review website, they let you choose what shade you'd like to try out. Since I don't really like wearing dark red, or very strong colors on my lips, I decided to be a bit of a risk-taker and tried out the Plum For Me color numero 388.

1. PACKAGING
The packaging of this lipstick is pretty similar to other solid form lippies of Maybelline, like the Color Sensation line. This could be both a pro and a con, pro being it creates a consistent image for this kind of lipstick for Maybelline, while the con is this Made for All lipstick line might drown in a sea of Color Sensation, Powder Mattes, and etc., which in that case how will we ladies be able to differentiate this particular line from the others? As for the strength of the packaging, given that I am an extremely clumsy fella, I have dropped this for a solid 5 times since I received this package last May 7 (currently writing this May 13), and so far no cracks or any signs of giving up ☝

2. CONTENTS
What I like about majority of Maybelline's cosmetics is that they have a lot of product in their packaging. By the looks of this tube, I can see this will last a good 3 to 4 months of daily use. Your Php 299 will definitely go a looong way with this bad boy 👌

3. SMELL
Another thing that I have noticed with Maybelline's recent lines of lippies are they smell better than other drugstore lipstick brands that are currently available in the market. Just like the Super Stay Ink liquid lipstick, this smells like candy, but not the fruity overwhelmingly sickly sweet kind. In fact this reminds me of a milky kind of candy, though it still have hints of the usual waxy smell, but it is tolerable and it is much better than BYS' lippies, which smells like Crayola and plastic-not a pleasant combination 🙊

4. PIGMENTATION
I tried swatching this first on on my wrist (as seen on the photo above), and weirdly enough it looks sheen and glossy. Sure, this is not a matte lipstick, but this isn't a lip gloss either. Sure, you can see that with just one swipe you'll see the color pay-off, however I have noticed upon application on my lips, you need to have atleast two full coats to really see how plum it is. Not sure if this will apply to lighter lips, but for someone with dark lips, it takes two swipes of this lipstick to evenly cover the color to my lips.

5. FORMULATION
Obviously this lipstick isn't matte, instead it's more of a satin creamy type. I had no problem applying this on my lips, since it's pretty creamy, it glides like a butter on my lips sans any tugging; Unlike butter, this doesn't crumble or slush easily- but of course, unlike crayola this isn't that solid, so pleeeease lock this up away from the kiddies. ALSO, I find this easy to blend, since I usually only bring one make-up product with me for touch-ups, usually a multi-purpose item like lip and cheek tint, I tried using this on my cheeks as well. Lo and behold, this plum color gave me a flushed 'drunken' look, not bad, but I don't think Maybelline wants us to use this as a blush hahaha! 🤔

6. STAYING POWER
Oh boy, this one's a problem since it reminded me why I don't use dark colored lipsticks. After applying this color on my lips, it immediately triggered my anxiety; Anxious that I might transfer my lipcolor to everything I hold dear! To give this some slack, mattes are more known to be transfer-proof, but I think they can push this one further and do something about it.

Excuse the face, please focus on the lipcolor.
SUMMARY
Let me do a rundown of my reviews with an old fashioned Pros and Cons:

PROS
1. SUPER MOISTURIZING! I didn't use a lip balm prior to applying this lippie, but the formulation of this lipstick still locked in the moisture, which made my lips soft for quite a while.
2. PIGMENTED! When I tried doing a swatch on my wrist, at first I thought it's too glossy sheen, but when I swiped it on my lips it was more of a satin finish, no specs of glitter.
3. Creamy candy-like smell.
4. The amount of product in each tube can last you for a long time. Unlike other lipsticks, this one doesn't give you a 'bitin' feeling. I think 1 tube can last you a good 3 to 4 months even if you use it everyday- including the re-touches!
5. The product is easy to apply, since the consistency is pretty creamy but not too soft that it'll crumble. I did not experience any tugging shen I spread out the color all over my lips.
6. Easy to blend. I know it is not really advisable to use lippies for other makeup purposes, but I tried using this one as a cheek tint, and whooooa! The Plum for all gave me this fresh glowy flushed look when I smeared it all over my cheeks. So I suppose this is a good 'must have' in every bag that I use in the daily.
7. The packaging appears to be sturdy. I dropped my lipstick, and in fairness the casing did not break. Pretty nifty for clumsy gals like me.

CONS
1. It's hard to cover the inner lip part, or like the 'waterline' of the lips with this. I understand that this is a satin-y cream consistency so the color may not be as 'sticky' as mattes, but it sure would be lovelier to have this kind of lipstick that can also cover the 'waterline' part.
2. As much as I love the pigmentation, I do hate how this is not a transfer proof lippie. It kind of reminded me why I hate wearing dark lipsticks, because if it isn't transfer proof I end up transfering my lipcolor everywhere... don't ask me how, I don't know hahaha!
3.limited shades. Although the claim that it will fit all skin tones, I still feel that they could have pushed for more colors. It would have been nicer if they added some deeper brown colors (which is lovely for both dark and fair skinned ladies), or even nude shades with some old rose flair.
4. Sure it is pigmented, but I feel that you must do 2 swipes to fully get the expected color-especially for girls with dark lips.

Not really a con, but more of a suggestion:
1. It would be nice if the lipstick, aside from being moisturizing, it also provides spf and sunprotection :)

AND THAT'S IT! Thanks to Try and Review for this! For those who are interested in trying and reviewing products, check out their website HERE

I remember as a kid, one of my favorite past times whenever I am dragged to the mall by my mom, aside from pestering my dad to buy me another Barbie doll, was swatching different make-up products on the back of my hand- oh wait, I still love doing that as a grown-ass woman 🤔🤔🤔

Picasso Level good

With that, you can definitely guess that aside from bookstores and artshops my favorite go-to shop is Watsons. Watsons is a magical place for me, because it has Scott's gummi vitamins, and a myriad of make-up brands with testers that I can abuse! Among the brands that I have eventually fallen in love with, one surprising 'childhood' brand have emerged from the ashes, and that is Careline.

YAAAS!

Back then, if someone mentioned Careline, people immediately comes up with this idea of very cheap make-up that feels like one of those make-up sets that are marketed as toys for young girls. They don't appear as sensible make-up that actually works to enhance your natural beauty, given that their formula sucks, and the packaging is as shitty as well - not even exaggerating here. Basically, you wouldn't want to be caught using Careline.

Que Horror!

But lo and behold, just like a revenge movie character, Careline re-emerged in the market, strong and fierce, ready to slay among its competitors.

SOOOOO, let's start with the review!

YES, THEY ARE ON SAAALE!
From 180 to 99 REAL QUICK!

1. Availability and Price.

Careline gets a top score for this one, given that it is available almost EVERYWHERE! Are you in the mall? Perfect, there's module island of it at the cosmetics section of major department stores. Heck yeah, some Careline products are available even in 7Eleven! But for the Careline Kiss Sticks lippies, they are predominantly available in Watson's and cosmetics sections.

As for the price, surprise surprise! These babies are on sale until the end of the month! From Php 180 (or roughly $ 3+) to Php 99 (around $ 2+). But you better expect that some shades are already sold out, because these babies are selling like pancakes!

2. Packaging.
As I have mentioned earlier, the old Careline's lippies' packaging are shitty; From the overall white casing with unnecessary disconnected design to the quality of the packaging itself, it seriously look like a toy make-up I shit you not ✋ Comparing that from its current look, I wouldn't say that it has drastically change, but it becomes a little bit sleeker, and even sort of mimic how Colourpop lipstix look like.

Red lippie in shade All Day.
My favorite one, Vacay!

3. Content.

There's a lot of product in every thin tube of Kiss Sticks. I remember buying my first one, in the shade Vacay last October 2018. I've been using it almost everyday since then, and surprisingly I still have around half an inch worth of product!

4. Formulation.
By the looks of it, I don't think they included harmful chemicals to it. These kiss Sticks are actually quite moisturizing, but wouldn't be much of help if you have chapped lips. As for applying it, I did not find any difficulty, which means there's not much tugging whenever I swipe a quick coat on my lips.

5. Finish.
Just to be clear, these babies are not matte lipsticks, however they aren't glossy nor satin-like finish. They do feel like really pigmented balms though, which means they do not feel too drying! But of course, moisturize your lips to really bring out the pop of color.

From top to bottom: Lucid, Pinch, and Vacay.

6. Pigmentation
I figured, the reason why I still have an inch or two of the shade Vacay is because with just one swipe you get impressive color pay-off already-and yes, Vacay is a Nude shade. Despite having slightly dark lips, the shade Vacay works its magic in making me have the perfect 'my-lips-but-better' shade.

7. Staying-Power
Hmmm this one gets an average score, since it doesn't last a lifetime like the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid lippies, but also it has more staying power than Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm.

8. Shades
Overall they have 12 shades, with a wild one called Martian. The Martian is a color green one that will definitely turn you into a sultry Disney villain. But if you don't have much of a wild streak, they have around 4 shades that are in the nude side of the color spectrum. One thing I have noticed though is that they lack shades that are into orange-y brown or frosty pink side.

9. Cruelty-Free?
YES! Check out that bunny stamp!

And with all that, what is my final verdict?

Pandag-dag arte haha!

I love it! I suppose I could consider it as one of my 'holy grail' products, given that I frequently reach out for my Kiss Stick in Vacay to finish off my daily make-up look! For a local brand, it exceeded my expectations! However, to be honest, I don't like the shade, All Day, but then again it's just me and my preferences, totally disconnected with the product itself.

I definitely recommend it, especially for ladies who are kinda struggling with the monies, but still wants to look like a million bucks! Now, here's a photo of me smiling like an idiot because I have found true love in Careline <3 p="">

Love Always,
Nicole

When I was younger and much foolish I always consider having a cat-eye a staple look for me. Back then, bibi Nicole always has blunt bangs, so the need for eyebrows on-fleek isn't that high. Back then, my go-to eyeliner product was Etude House's Oh m'Eye Line Eyeliner where I would have my upper lids in jet black, while my waterline in its glittery silver version.
My life-saver
Time have definitely changed, where I have traded these bad boys for Skin Food Choco eyebrow powder (which smells like chocolate, hnnng)which resulted to me having my muscle memory totally forgot how to do a finesse flick- Actually forgetting how to do make-up overall.

Me, now.
But with all the upcoming shindigs and travels on my way, I figured I have to get back and embrace my make-up junkie-ness (lol), and with that I decided to do baby steps. In doing so, I figured I should probably start with something very affordable before dabbling with MACs and Bobbi Browns. With that, I ended up in Miniso.

For those who have no idea what Miniso is Have you been living under a rock? , it is a low-cost shop that sells everything you can think of. They have everything, from toys to stationery, and even drinks! Its aesthetic looks like Uniqlo, but the extensiveness of its products is akin to Muji. The brand is marketed as 'Japanese', but really all of its stuff is made in China. They sprouted like mushrooms in the Philippines 2 years ago, and ever since they have been a big hit with the Filipinos.

Since looking for a branch of Miniso is as easy as spotting a McDonald's, it was easy for me to scour these goodies. Usually, the only thing I buy in Miniso are stationery and socks, but I have never bought make-up products from there, despite being really curious about it. Perhaps the reaaaally low price point makes me think, 'This is too good to be true", so I always pass by the make-up counter and go directly to where the pens are at.

Carry On, Move Along

Anyway, this time I decided to whisk away those thoughts and just buy all these stuff. Soooo, let's begin with the Mascara:

1. ALL-WEATHER NO SMUDGE MASCARA - Php 99.00 or around $ 2.00
Yup, not joking this retails for 99 pesos only. At that time when I was looking at the make-up counter, there are only 2 varieties of mascaras available, one is this, and the other is a volume maximizing mascara. However the other one doesn't have this:

Yup, this one's waterproof.

VERDICT:
I hate it. HAHAHAHA! I don't know, but it's so clumpy! It's my first time to use it, and it's just so clumpy! When I applied it in my lashes, it did not perform well either. My lashes ended up looking like spider legs. Yikes! I did not even bother taking a photo of it, because it looks awful :/

2. EYELINER - Php 99.00 or around $ 2.00
Unlike the mascara, there's a myriad of types of eyeliners available. There's some that promises more precision, then there's also that claims it is super waterproof, so in the end I opt with this one since I suppose it's the best of both worlds- and look at how shiny the gold packaging looks like ♥

VERDICT:
Oh wow, I hate it too! HAHAHAH! Don't be fooled by how you apply it on your hands or wrist, because it's so difficult to put it in your eyes! Sure, I'm not as adept as I was in drawing a cat-eye, but daaaaayum, this runs quite patchy on the eyes! I've tried using it for the whole day, to see if at least its' waterproof claim would bring justice to this... but no. it disappointed me even more. So at the end of the day, I looked like I had a boxing match with all the smeared eyeliner in my eye area *sigh*

3. EYELASH CURLER - Php 99.00 or around $ 2.00
The only non-make-up item I bought is this mint green eyelash curler with grip support. Originally, this is the only item I was after for when I entered the store- I should have just trusted my instinct and just bought this HAHAHA!

VERDICT:
Surprisingly, this is good. This item does what it promises, it curls the eyelashes ☺ Though of course, it lacks the magic effect of what a Shu Uemura curler does, but hey what can you expect from Php 99 pesos compared to a Php 1,000+ one, right?

So, is Miniso Make-up worth it?
Well, it is very affordable, however if you have high expectations, don't even bother buying because you'll just end up being disappointed. I think the only scenarios buying make-up from Miniso is acceptable is when you have an emergency event, or if you just want to experiment, however if your criteria doesn't fit within the two, spare yourself from the heartbreak and buy equally affordable and trusted brands like Maybelline, or even local brands like Careline and Nichido.

Also, I've read a couple of stuff online where people are apprehensive about trying Miniso make-up, since they are soooo affordable that the ingredients used in making them are probably toxic, or at least harsh to the skin. So far, I did not experience any irritation or bad effects, but if you really are skeptic in trying them, buy non-make-up items in Miniso instead, they are much better than the make-up -And yes, I'll forever vouch for the Miniso Acrylic Markers ♥

With that, I shall go to Etude House now and get myself a fresh piece of jet black Oh M'Eye Line.

Love, Always,
Nicole ♥

P.S.
As of August 3, 2018 I have lost the mascara. I remember putting it in my jacket pocket yesterday, and when I checked the pocket, it is officially missing. R.I.P. Miniso Mascara.

Can't help but sing Bee Gee's Staying Alive, because of this Punny name.

But what's not Punny about this amazing lip and cheek stain is the product itself. Behold, Skin Genie's Lip and Cheek Stain Alive!

As per my previous post, I bought this along during my mini haul at BeautyMNL when they had the Php 1 shipping fee promo. I've been planning since last month to buy a new lip and cheek tint, since the one that I've been using, from Korean brand The Face Shop's Watery tint had already dried up. Also, I want to try a new brand, since despite the fact that I have learned to love the watery tint I previously I had, applying the said tint was such a chore. It dries up soooo fast, that if I weren't able to apply it sooner on my face, it'll dry up on my hands. Another is, if I swatch it on my cheeks, I'll most probably end up with a weird red streak :/

Anyway, about the product, so this lip and cheek stain is from Skin Genie. Skin Genie is a beauty brand that offers a wide range of products, from whitening to anti-ageing, to cosmetics. Also, it's from the Philippines, so #LocalLove.

Anyway, here's a quick review of the product:

PACKAGING

This shouldn't be a huge factor, but let's be honest, would you buy make-up that doesn't have appealing package? Well, maybe yes, but still let's take packaging into consideration Sige mapilit. Before you get to see the bottle, you see first its chic white and gold box, that reminds me of Happy Skin vibes (Happy Skin is another Filipino brand, will get to that soon *wink*). Upon opening the box, you see this. The bottle is around 3 inches, and the text are imprinted on the bottle, not in a sticker.

SMELL
I was not expecting it to smell like Cantaloupe! It smells so good, I have to refrain myself from licking my stained lips, in hopes of tasting a Cantaloupe flavored syrup hahahah eww,

APPLICATION

It's a roll-on, which reminds me of those lip and cheek tint from Avon I used to have when I was a kid aba batang malandutay. What I like about this is, it's very efficient if you apply it to the cheeks, since it covers more area than with a wand-like applicator. With this, you get an even more natural-looking blush.

FORMULATION
The tint/stain is very watery, and doesn't dry up as fast as other tint/stains in the market. Also, since it's very light, it's easier to build it up by layering more and more without the heavy feeling on your lips. If you want a more pigmented look, you can just add more swipes to achieve a vampier tone. By the way I purchased the Merlot Shade.

VARIATIONS
Oh, you'll go crazy for all 13 colors available! There's definitely a shade perfect for any skin tone!

PRICING
Ok, inhale first... This thing of beauty costs Php 80 pesos only! or around $1-2 only!

By the way, here's how it looks on my wrist:
2 coats only
... and here's on my lips:

Just 1 coat

To sum it up, here's a traditional Pros and Cons:

PROS:
1. It's so affordable at Php 80 only.
2. Easy application with its roll-on applicator.
3. Very buildable, since it's light-weight but pigmented.
4. Smells so good!
5. So many colors!

CON:
1. The color builds up on the inner part of your lips :(
2. Not long-lasting.

So, would I recommend the Skin Genie's Lip and Cheek Stain Alive? Definitely! At its price point, I think it delivers more than what you paid for. Though, personally I'd rather use it for my cheeks instead. Come to think of it, this would make an amazing gift if you're on a budget!

Love Always,

Nicoco

P.S.

Have I convinced you? You can get yours here *Happy Dance*

P.P.S.

Not sponsored, just an act of service to women who have no frickin' idea about lip tints hahaha! Cheers!

Upon checking the definition of the word Haul, one of the notable definition of a haul is: "A quantity of something that was stolen or is possessed illegally." Just to make it clear, I paid for every single thing in this post hahaha!

https://78.media.tumblr.com/cd582b534f0c62446598141716a0847b/tumblr_nsi4pbC8a11tpri36o1_400.gif

Sooo, last Friday, October 27, 2017 while checking out my facebook profile, I've noticed at the upper right corner is an ad from BeautyMNL that says you get to pay Php 1 only for shipping. My frugal heart started beating, that I decided to check it out.

Mecca
You see, on a regular basis if you spend less than Php 1,500 on products from BeautyMNL, you get to pay Php50 for shipping fee. However if you decided to full-blown treat yo' self on beautiful things, and surpassed Php 1,500, you don't have to pay for shipping anymore.

Anyway, for those who aren't familiar with BeautyMNL, it is an online store/community that sells and features make-up, skincare products, hair care products, and all things that will make you beautiful (they even sell accessories, and little acrylic things to put your make-up in). The first time I discovered this amazing site was last year, and ever since then the brands that they carry keeps on expanding. From mainstream brands like Maybelline and E.L.F., to lesser-known (but equally amazing ones) like Petra by Pixi. They also carry amazing high-end brands like Chanel, and even those that you most likely only be able to acquire if you're in another country, like Kylie lipkits, and Colourpop; but not anymore, because BeautyMNL saves the day!

Sooooo, since I'm not that heavy on make-up (Lip and Cheek Tint + Eyebrow Powder girl here) I don't intend to buy a lot, at most I just want to try out local cult-faves that are worth every penny. Sooooo, shall we begin?

https://78.media.tumblr.com/181369d4b5f48345818023e6924ae01e/tumblr_oy8h603Js51wcomj2o1_400.gif

As I've mentioned, I saw the Php 1 ad last October 27, 2017 and at that moment, I found myself ordering 4 items. All of the items I bought are locally made, so I'm pretty excited with each product I bought.

Time check: 12:46 PM 30th of October 2017. Yep, my order arrived! BeautyMNL never fails when it comes to delivery time! Even with my 2 previous orders, it never exceeded more than 3 working days before I get my hands on my goodies. However, I think if you order today you won't be able to get your order by tomorrow or on Wednesday, since it's a holiday :(

THE GOODIES

Here are the items I've purchased:

1. Skin Potion's Flaunt Thy Lashes Eyelash and Eyebrow Hair Grower - Php 199.00

Smol tube is smol
I don't know, but I was kinda expecting a bigger tube hahaha! Supposedly, my main goal is to buy a brand new mascara, and I've noticed this one particular mascara by Lioele which retails for Php 199. Aside from its reasonable price, there are a lot of promising reviews about it. Just when I was about to click "Add to Cart", I then realized that it's already sold out :( So, upon further checking of different eyelash products, I stumbled upon this.

Since hair growth doesn't happen over night, and I have yet to try this out, will make another post about this product ;)

2. Skin Genie's Lip and Cheek Stain Alive in Merlot - Php 80.00 (YUP, I'M NOT JOKING)

Now, this one is a cult favorite amongst BeautyMNL buyers and reviewers, having a whopping 1,586 review (and counting), it did not take me so long to be persuaded to buy it. Aside from its affordable price, and good reviews, this lip and cheek stain have 13 different swatches to choose from!

I already tried this, but will definitely make a separate post for this beauty <3 p="">

3. Bath Junkies' Pink Party Love Potion cologne - Php 50.00 (Not joking)

smol bottle is kyot

The size of this pretty cologne is as big as your handy mouthwash spray, but oh boy, the scent is so powerful. This is the first product I tried upon opening the package. At first spritz, I was surprised with how overwhelmingly fruity it is! It smells as if you drowned yourself in a pool of grapefruit juice! No kidding! But after an hour or two, the strong smell subsides, now it smells fruity but delicate. A good buy indeed!

And the last, but not the least...

4. Pink Sugar, It's Awesome BB Cream in Light - Php 499 but currently at Php 199 (Yup, SRSLY)

Now, this one is a tricky purchase. I've always find it problematic thing to purchase foundations, BB creams, or anything that needs to properly match your face's skin tone (yup, your hand and your face don't share the same skin tone), since you really can't swatch it on your neck, or your monitor may not be able to fully show the right color of the product. Anyhoo, I still proceeded in purchasing this BB cream, since it was on sale! I purchased the Light color, then immediately regretted it since it may not be the right color for me. However, I kept in mind that if this doesn't suit me well, I can give this to my older sister, who's skin is as fair as a paper.

Like the Lip and Cheek Stain, this product has 87 reviews, so I did not think twice and bought it. Haven't tried it yet, but once I do, will make a separate post about it :)

And that's it! My mini haul (sans the stealing) in BeautyMNL made my heart aflutter, and my wallet cry a little.

Love Always,

Nicoco
