A few years ago I read in an article where my favorite krung krung, Sandara Park, said in an interview that she seldom uses sheet/face masks, where she reserves this beauty thing only when she has an event the next day. I was thinking, "hmm yeah, she has a point," but then again she has the skin of a goddess, while I have a skin of a pauper so I shouldn't probably subscribe to that face mask habit hahaha!

Since we are not getting any younger, and wrinkles are waiting at bay, what better face mask to try on than a product that promises to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles within 20-minutes???

Similar to the item I made a review of : Maybelline Made for All Lipsticks  I also got this face mask off of Try And Review. So, if you want to get free beauty and skin care items in exchange of your brutal truth, I suggest you go create an account now, and apply for products you can test for FREE!

Ok ok, just a disclaimer, this mask does not claim in 20 minutes to get such results, however, it's a known fact that you keep the face mask on for around 20 minutes until the sheet has dried up and your skin has absorbed the essence fully.

I'm not gonna go much in detail, but this mask's main claim is "Instantly reduces the look of fines lines and wrinkles," with the use of its main ingredient, which is Korean Black Ginseng.

To those who don't know, the ginseng plant is used in various things like enhance physical performance, exert anti-cancer effects, and even as anti-inflammatory/anti-oxidant, which is certainly helpful for anti-aging products. You can check out a study about this HERE if you're keen to know more about this ingredient.

Back to the product, it doesn't necessarily promise 'skin deep' or lasting effects, however with continuous use, along with other anti-aging products included in the roster of Olay's product line, this could be helpful in achieving that fresh youthful glow.

So much essence inside!

One of the unique selling propositions of this product is its "Second skin bio-cellulose sheet that provides seamless that provide seamless contact with skin for optimal delivery." The first thing I noticed when I opened it was the netting that comes with the mask, which baffled me into thinking that is what bio-cellulose probably meant hahaha! But oh no, but no! The plastic netting is actually in place to ensure the mask won't stick on itself!  It pays to read the instructions mah friends haha!

Unlike the usual masks you see on the market, where most are made out of a cotton-like material, this mask feels like silicone- almost like second skin. I suppose with this kind of material it helps your skin absorb the essence better than those cotton ones, which might end up absorbing more of the product than actually transferring it to your face.

While waiting for the essence to be fully absorbed by my skin, I decided to do a quick sketch- my only ambag for inktober 🙃

Like I've said, DON'T EXPECT TOO MUCH from a 20-minute mask, however, this baby did help in providing the much-needed moisture my skin needs. To see actual results, whether having a brighter more radiant or lessen appearance of fine lines (because girl the only way to zap away those little buggers are with surgery, no amount of creams can do much about your wrinkles. Sad life), it's a must to partner this Skinfusion mask with other Olay products to get optimal results.

Slap it girl!

For its price, which is around Php 120+ or $ 3, it can be costly to be using this on a daily basis-but hey if you got the paper, make it rain!

Did my skin glow after? Maybe. You be the judge below.

Love Always,
Nicole ❤

7 months after the trip, here we are continuing the Japan 2020 blog 🤦🏻‍♀️ hahaha! I've been occupied with a lot of things, both important and useless matters-anyway, I'm just rambling here, let's proceed with the blog.

After a 7-hour sleeper bus from Tokyo, we have arrived in Kyoto, at 5 in the morning where everything seems all closed, and you can't even see a nearby 7Eleven to grab a coffee. Good thing though we got dropped off at the Kyoto station where we saw a McDonald's that was about to open!

Sige kuya, ipush mo yan ☝

I remember that morning being so cold that the moment we got off the bus I already want to run towards the train station for some warmth.

The first thing we saw was McDonald's, however, when we got nearer we noticed that there's already a line build-up. For some reason, Ken and I also had a weird realization that we should at least give an ounce of effort with our first meal in this lovely city. Since I was craving big time for fluffy Soufflé pancakes, and Ken wants good coffee, we headed to Hoshino Café which is just 10 steps away from McDonald's.

Pretty much like McDonald's, people are starting to line up in front of Hoshino Café as it prepares to open its doors to us, the hungry mob. I don't know, but I noticed that Japanese people LOVE to line up for food! Well, I couldn't blame them, 99% of their food is 😗👌.

Being inside Hoshino Café feels as if you're inside a French café, with its heavily inspired Parisian interiors. While waiting for our order, I decided to whip out my laptop and re-check our itinerary. We have a loooong day ahead, so we better have a good breakfast 👌They offer a lot of western food like sandwiches, salads, and of course...

Pancaaaakes!

Haggard ka gh0rl?

After enjoying every morsel of our breakfast, we decided to jumpstart our day and go to our hostel. We noticed that the line outside of the cafe is getting longer, so we decided not to hog the cozy seats, and have our butts moving towards the train.

From the Kyoto station, it took us 2 kinds of trains to reach our next destination:

When I booked our hostel via Booking.com I did not anticipate that it will be quite far from the main hub in Kyoto! However despite its distance from the city part of Kyoto, surprisingly we enjoyed the fact that it's located in the more countryside of this city. Unlike in our place in Tokyo, where 500 meters away we can see a full mall complete with a Uniqlo inside, the only commercial thing you'll see within the 500 meter radius of Kyoto Tsukiusagi is a grocery store.

Despite having 2 train rides getting here, we still arrived in our hostel really early I blame Japan's efficient public transportation ugh hahaha! Initially, our plan is to rest for a bit, drop our luggage in the hostel, freshen up, and off we go explore Kyoto, since our check-in time is at 3 P.M., and lo and behold we arrived in the hostel at 9 A.M!

Luckily, when we arrived we were informed that whoever was booked the day before us did not arrive, so they let us check-in early! The moment we got in our room, we ended up napping! HAHAHA!

I took over the top bunk, since Ken was having gout attacks and can't climb the ladder hohoho hahaha! 💁😅

Once again, our room is tiny but very cozy! Hahaha! No complains about this though, because  whenever I travel I don't need the luxury of a huge space, since when I travel I spent like 30% of my time inside the hotel/hostel/apartment, and usually it's spent either sleeping or taking a shower only 🤷 As long as I have enough space to lay down my luggage in the floor, I am good.

Also, much like our previous hostel in &And Hostel in Minamisenju, we don't have our own shower and toilet inside our room. I don't know about how hostels are in other countries, but staying in one in Japan is 󠅓👍😘👌 Despite not having our own bathroom in our room, you can assure that the communal showers and toilets are spotless and clean! Also each shower has it's own cubicle that you can lock, so even after cleaning yourself you have enough space to dry up and put your clothes on, which means you don't have to walk back to your room wearing just a towel.

Surprisingly cute outfit combo

We woke up from our nap at 1 P.M., famished, so we decided to put our coats on, and venture to the great unknown- the nearest grocery store! HAHAHA! On our way to the grocery store, we get to have a feel of what provincial Japan looks like. Unlike in Tokyo where from afar you could still see some mid-rise buildings, in that part of Kyoto we were at the tallest establishment we could see was a public school!

BEST ORANGE JUICE!

Country Ma'am = SOFTEST AND YUMMIEST COOKIE EVERRR!

I must say nothing could ever rival the QUALITY of Japanese groceries and convenience stores! Whether you are in a city or province, their groceries are packed with the best food items that will make your heart flutter with so much joy! In our quick trip we were able to buy the yummiest and freshest meals, along with a variety of breads, biscuits, and snacks!

But what made cry for joy are the drinks we bought! I got myself a bottle Sangaria Strawberry Milk Drink, and a frickin' large bottle of Bireley's Orange juice! These 2 are my ultimate staples whenever I go to Japan (Aside from my beloved mochi icecream huhu), that I make sure I get to drink these two whenever I am in Japan, because they are soooooo gooooood! Just thinking about 'em makes me wanna cry a little huhuhu!

After devouring some of our food, Ken's gout started to worsen, which made us decide to cancel all of our plans for today and actually stay in the hostel for the rest of the night. At first I got sad because I was itching to explore as much as I could, but then I realized that we do need to pause and recuperate- and duh, Ken needs this rest, got no choice there hahaha! Also we still have the next day as a full day to check out what Kyoto has to offer ☝

Good thing though Kyoto Tsukiusagi has a common room with a huge television and a classic family computer console! We were able to play some of the classic games we grew up playing, like Doctor Mario. Aside from that they also have...

Jengga!
BTW that bread you see, that's one of the bestest cheese bread I have ever had in my life 🤤

Basically that's how we spent our 1st day in Kyoto, at 'home', resting, playing board games, and doing laundry hahaha! Thank God for all the ¥ 100 coins that spilled all over the floor of my bags hahaha!

Love Always,

Nicole ❤

Ok, ok, just for a disclaimer I got it off on sale during 6.6 sale of Lazada that's why I got it for Php 36.50 but originally I think it is retailed at Php 100+! But anyhooo, let's go with it.

Before I did a blog post about budget beauty products, particularly the Skin Genie's Lip and Cheek Stain Alive HERE. Pretty much like the premise of my old review, I want to either prove or debunk the myth that these roller-type gel-based lip and cheek tints are worth the C0iNzZz.

Last June 6 I was able to score myself a 36 pesos lip tint during Lazada's 6.6. Originally I wasn't really interested in buying myself another lip tint given that I really see no use for one- I mean, HELLO FACEMASK! But c'mon, who would pass for a lip tint that is as affordable as your daily siomai rice? HAHA!

Also, I got curious with the brand Beyond Beautiful, because aside from selling these lippies, they also sell skincare products like cleansers and serums, and body care items like shampoo bars and soap. By the way, for the record, their shampoo bars are the boooomb!

I tried searching the internet for more details about Beyond Beautiful, unfortunately, I can't seem to find a refutable website nor an official Instagram about this brand so I don't think I could say much about it 🤷

This lipgloss comes in a roller-type applicator, a glass (but very thick so it won't break easily if it falls) body, and a very candy-like sticker tag. On the body, the sticker tag shows the brand name, what item it is, the ingredients, and the manufacturing date vs. expiration date. I think this is important since the item did not come with a box, so it's assuring to see the details of your product on the get-go.

I have 2 concerns regarding the packaging of this lip tint:

1. The sticker tag tends to peel-off easily, which is bad for people like me who don't bring a make-up bag and have a tendency of just dumping it inside my bag.

2. The roller applicator is skid-ish. Ok, so how do I explain this? Hmmm, it's hard to apply this on the skin because the roller produces the product in patches... Gets? HAHAHA!

Needs improvement.

The product feels like a mixture of gel and syrupy liquid, so it's not thick nor is it watery. When applied on the skin you get to see the color immediately, but like I mentioned a while ago due to the slightly faulty roller, when applied it tend to be in patches.

When first applied the color of the tint is soooo strong, but after blending it soon looks more natural on the skin, Just a disclaimer, since this is very pigmented, if you're going to use it on your cheeks I advise to put some product on the back of your hand first then from there put small amounts to your cheeks.

The item tends to dry really fast, and has a tendency to be difficult to blend so you have to be fast when working with this product.

I'm pretty torn with this one, while yes it stays on your lips it does stay on that part of your lips that makes it look awkward. When I wore this lip tint it ended up pooling on the  inner waterline of my lip, and no it doesn't look Korean make-up-like ombre. This is something I always find myself being frustrated about when it comes to this kind of formulation.

However, it's a different story when it comes to using this as a cheek product, because it stays even after swimming! I am not sure if it's because of post-workout glow ay, yes, but my cheeks are still flushed pretty much how it was after I applied it.

PROS:
👍 The price is definitely a huge pro! I mean who would expect to snag a make-up product for THIRTY FRICKING SIX PESOS?
👍 Very pigmented, with just a few swipes your face can be as red as a strawberry hahaha!
👍 It comes in a variety of colors, so if you're fair and wants something more in the pink spectrum this product is good for you.
👍 Can be easily bought in Lazada.

CONS:
👎I have problems with the roller applicator. It omits the product in patch-like appearance 💁
👎The color pools on the inner waterline of the lips, which makes it look unpleasant.
👎 Staying power is meh.

To be honest, if you get presented with a Php 36 lip tint I think it's almost criminal to be overly critical with it hahaha! On the plus side, this performed better than any Php 36 item could ☝

Love Always,
Nicole ❤
