Last Thursday, April 18,2013, I, Nicole Alejandro turned 20 years old *throws confetti*.

Anyway, here are the pics from that day :)

Le Birthday cake ♥ My cousin bought this for me at a quaint Korean bakery around Angeles area :)

My little cousins :)

(L-R) Hershey, Johann and Marla

Le little cousins and my older cousin, Lot ♥

My mom (the one in green) and my aunt :)

My not-so-celebratory birthday was a very unplanned kind of celebration, because I (and my mom and two younger cousins) were literally kidnapped by my aunt and her family, where we all end up in Fontana Resort in Pampangga at 8:30 on April 17 :)) It was not planned, and I loved every single minute of it ☺After that tho, me and my immediate family ate at this Japanese restaurant (which I forgot the name) in Trinoma. I did not bother to take anymore pictures, because I was dead tired and hungry already... hey, for sure people would the same if they were in my position *wink wink* hahaha!

Now that I'm a twenteen... hmm, to be honest I still don't feel any difference from how I was a year ago, from what I am now, but I'm certain that I'm a better person. A year ago, things were sooooooooo different and- ok, enough feels :) Anyway, to those who have turned and are turning Twenteen soon, all I can say is... GANBEI!

Love,
Nicoco♥

These photos were taken when we visited my older sister in her condo last Saturday. It was a bit cloudy, so we took advantage of it and go straight to the pool :) After that we devoured on pizza and pasta (very Italian indeed), hence gaining again the weight I thought I have lost while swimming.

I just realized that it has been a year already since that epic Anvaya trip with Anton's friends :) And exactly a year after, I'm at some pool soaking and practicing my butterfly strokes (I'm kinda suckish, you see). Ayyyy Life :)

Hopefully everyone's enjoying their summer vacations (I'm looking at you Filipinos hehe), while to those in the Northern Hemisphere, I hope you guys cherish the cold weather ;)

Love,
Nicoco♥

Last year, I made a blog post about the feels I have gained when I finished reading Stephen Chbosky's The Perks of Being a Wallflower. After a year and two months, I am about to do the same with another book (Remember, this is not a book review since I won't really be doing a synopsis because I suck in summarizing), and that book is *drum roll*...

Yes, the book about the romantic coming-of-age of young Toru Watanabe, that is Norwegian Wood. I just finished reading it recently (by recently, I mean 5 hours ago), so the feelings and emotions the book have cause me is pretty fresh.

I remember when I bought it last December (yes, you read it right) I was a bit skeptic about it, because I've heard a lot of comments that Murakami's writing style tends to be complex, and it made me intimidated (I have this notion that the only genre that could humor me is Young Adult). I guess that's pretty much a reason why it took me so long before I started devouring the pages of this wonderfully relatable novel.

So after 4-5 months of having it gathering dust in my bookshelf, I've finally read it, and I must say that I'm glad I just read it recently, because with the events happening right now (Me turning 20, missing someone, April, and constantly craving for Japanese food), I was able to relate soooooo much to the story. Despite it being a masterpiece penned by Murakami, it was a fair read, meaning I did not have any difficulty reading it. If I've read this novel earlier or later, I don't think the impact of the story would be so strong.

Anyway, a brief synopsis of the book meh I contradict myself sooo much : The story is about a protagonist who becomes nostalgic about his past. The protagonist, Toru Watanabe narrated the story on how was his life like when he was 18 in a non-restful 1969 Japan. He was head over heels in love with his dead best friend's girlfriend Naoko, whom is damaged because of far deeper roots. But because of Naoko's unstableness, Toru has no choice but to let her breathe and have space for her to be better. While waiting, Toru finds himself getting closer to a voraciously liberated girl, that is Midori... and the plot thickens :))

Oh, by the way the story was made into a movie in 2010 with the same title :) (of which I haven't seen yet)... So, this book is just so awesome that words can never ever ever describe or define it perfectly. It has themes/topics/subjects like Love, Death, Friendship, Depression, Mental illnesses, Sex and everything else that will definitely make one relate to it-no wonder it was like the favorite book of the Japanese youth. But Japanese or not, 20 or not, In love or not, lost someone or not, one can definitely be 'hit' so hard with this book. This book is just Fucking GREAT!

Love,
Nicoco

P.S.

The pics used were from Tumblr :)

No more school means more free time, and more free time means more time for drawing :) I've been drawing shizz once again, and I must say it's keeping me sane (especially now that I'm a bum waiting for replies about job applications). Though, le drawings above were drawn last year hahaha. I'll try to blog about the newer ones one of these days (unless the lazy bug decides to bug me again, then that'll mean I'll be blogging about it next year haha).

Hopefully, whoever is reading my blog is having a good time right now :) If not, don't worry and just remember that there will be no rainbows without rain :)

Nicoco♥

*insert y u no meme here*

Let's just say that this event happened back in November, and I dunno why it took me months to make this blogpost ... meh. Anyway, here's what happened last November 17,2012; as you can see on the picture above, it was the book signing of Ramon Bautista's masterpiece called : Baket hindi ka crush ng crush mo, Or in English Why your crush doesn't like you back :)) Me and my bestfriend Lara braved the very long snake-like queue just to have our books signed and have a picture with this wise man.

Lara with the Master ☻

Ha, gusgusing bata!

His book may not really help you figure out your love problems on the spot, but it will definitely make you laugh and feel better :)

This is a VERY LATE POST! How late? Let's just say this happened... I forgot already actually =))) Not sure if it happened last year or earlier this year hahaha. Anyway, this post is about the field trip I had with my mom at the Manila Ocean Park *confetti*, and how much I enjoyed ogling at the colorful fishies, sharks oh and birds that I saw there :) Here are le pics:

 My favorite, Le eels

 Bird

 With le mama ☻

I have no idea what this is :/

The only thing I can remember about this trip was the fish spa that I declined to :)) The story behind that was, mama and I agreed that we'll try the fish spa where we'll dip our feet at this pool full of fishes that suck all the dead skin of your feet. However, we decided to not grab this seemingly awesome opportunity when we saw a long queue of people waiting for their chance to have their feet dipped... oh and there are loads of people on the pool already, and it sort of disgusted me :/ So there, that's the only thing I remembered about this trip hahaha!

Love,
Nicoco ♥
